Our costs

Psychology4Law accepts cases that qualify for public funding/legal aid and these rates are determined by the Legal Services Commission.

Fee Guide in legally aided instructions

All our psychologists undertake legally aided and privately funded cases.

The current rate for assessments funded by the Legal Services Commission is as follows.

• Adult psychologist: £117 per hour
• Child psychologist: £126 per hour
• Travel time £40 – travel costs .45 per mile / public transport costs

Cognitive assessment – Adult (hourly rate £117.00)

• Reading papers: 3 hours
• Interview and Assessment: 4 hours
• Data analysis: 1 hour
• Forming opinion and report writing: 4 hours
• Cost of test forms: £14.58

Total: 12 hours, £1404.00 + £14.58 (excluding travel time, travel costs & VAT at 20%)

Full psychological assessment – Adult (hourly rate £117.00)

• Reading papers: 3 hours
• Interview and Assessment: 6 hours
• Data analysis: 1 ½ hours
• Forming opinion and report writing: 8 hour
• Cost of test forms: £65.06

Total: 18 ½ hours, £2164.50 + £65.06(excluding travel time, travel costs & VAT at 20%)

Full psychological assessment – Child (hourly rate £126.00)

• Reading papers: 3 hours
• Interview and assessment: 6 hours
• Contact/school observation: 2 hours per visit
• Consultation with professional (e.g. teachers, social worker etc): 2 hrs
• Data analysis & interpretation: 1 hour
• Forming opinion and report writing: 8 hours
• Cost of test forms: £19.66

Total: 22 hours, £2772.00 + £19.66 (excluding travel time, travel costs & VAT at 20%)

Capacity assessment: (£117 hourly rate)

• Taking instructions, reading papers: 3 hour
• Interview and assessment: 3 ½ hours
• Data analysis & report writing: 2 ½ hours
• Cost of testing forms: £21.00

Total: 9 hours, £1053.00 + £ 21.00 (excluding travel time, travel costs & VAT at 20%)

Additional Activities:

• Court attendance daily rate 6 hours per day plus 2 hours preparation. (excluding travel time, travel costs & VAT at 20%)
• Telephone conference charged at hourly rate plus 2 hours preparation.

Please note that costs will also be determined by the size of the
bundle and travel time / expenses.

All costs subject to VAT at the current rate.
